Yuri M. Lewicky, MD Double Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon fellowship trained in shoulder surgery & sports medicine

Dr. Lewicky returned to his hometown of Flagstaff in 2006 and joined Northern Arizona Orthopaedics as a fellowship-trained sports medicine and shoulder specialist with extensive training in the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of shoulder and knee injuries.

His desire to become an orthopaedic sports medicine shoulder and knee specialist stemmed from his own personal experience with debilitating injuries that required hard work and determination to recover from. These experiences taught him the importance of a unified team of support to maximize recovery. He understands the pain of a potentially life-changing injury and the supreme importance of returning to normal activity as soon as possible.

His training includes fellowships in arthroscopic surgery, total shoulder arthroplasty and sports medicine. During fellowship, he provided care for the San Diego Padres and the Division 1 athletic teams of SDSU and UCSD. Today, he is the team doctor for Flagstaff High School and serves as an orthopaedic surgeon consultant for several regional high schools as well asfor Northern Arizona University athletics for which he served as their Tearm Orthopaedic Surgeon from 2006 until 2022.

In treating patients, he strives to provide them with what he would want: clear communication, a thorough understanding of the condition and treatment, and, when necessary, the highest level of surgical skill.

In his free time, he escapes to the outdoors and enjoys alpine skiing, extreme backcountry hiking, and spending time with his family.
